Trash Can Liners

Let’s talk savings. Do you find yourself struggling to get a good fit from your can liners? Pitt Plastics has taken a closer look at the most common and popular trash receptacles and found the perfect fit for each. This has eliminated the guesswork and provided a solution. We have the bags you need and that equates to savings in money, time and plastic.

Are you using the right trash can liners for your container and application? From mils, microns, star seal, gusset seals, and finding the right size liner for your container, there are many different variables to consider to selecting the correct one. It’s not easy to guess which trash bag fits which container just right. With the help of our partner, Pitt Plastics, we’ve put together some trash can liners tips to help you get the bag you need.

High Density Liners

High Density Trash Can Liners

1. Liner thickness measured in Microns.
2. HMW/HD liners are about three times stronger and more durable than ordinary polyethylene liners of same thickness
3. Require less petroleum based raw material to manufacture making them a viable option for source reduction
4. Good moisture barrier and chemical resistance
5. Performs well under temperature extremes
6. Natural colored liners are made from materials approved for food storage by USDA and FDA
7. Not recommended for sharp or jagged objects

Low Density Liners

Low Density Trash Can Liners

1. Liner thickness measured in Mils.
2. Superior stretch properties
3.Maximum puncture and tear resistance
4. Stronger than traditional low density material
5. Multi-purpose applications
6. Manufactured in wide variety of colors
7. Repro liners are LL made from reprocessed resins
8. Better clarity than HD material

Star Seal

Star Seal Can Liner

Designed without gussets, the star seal eliminates gaps along the seal where leaks can occur. This unique design allows the bag to conform more easily to the shape of the container and distributes the weight of the refuse evenly around the bag. Star seal liners maximize the bag’s carrying capacity and virtually eliminate leaks. Star Seal liners are designated in two dimensions, i.e., 40×46.

Gusseted Seal

Gusseted Seal Can Liner

A flat style bag manufactured with both sides tucked in to form gussets. Where indented, the bag has to be sealed through four layers of film, while the middle of the bag has two layers. Gusseted seal liners are designated in three dimensions, i.e., 23x17x46.

Flat Seal

Flat Seal Can Liner

Just as the name infers, a flat seal is simply a two dimensional bag with a bottom seal. Flat seal bags are generally leak-proof, but are very clumsy to handle. Also, they do not conform very well to the shape of most trash receptacles. Flat seal liners are designated in two dimensions, i.e., 40×46.
